But what I love even better is Easy Appetizers!

I’m all about simple things, so the easier, the better!!

I have recently discovered a few great recipes and had to share them with you! 😊 Just like me, you’re probably always looking for new recipes. And I mean, easy recipes!

I will also share a few of my own favorite appetizer recipes, which I have made many times but still enjoy. I already shared them in previous posts, but I thought it would be a good idea to regroup them here.

10 Easy Appetizer Recipes…We have to start somewhere!

So you know, I didn’t put them in any particular order. I love them all, so any of these could have been the number 1 on this list 😉. But, because we have to start somewhere…

#1 Stuffed Cherry Tomatoes

I just can’t tell how many times I made these cherry tomatoes; believe me, it is always a success! They are also an excellent recipe for brunches or pool parties! I sometimes garnish cucumber slices with this stuffing for a bit of change. Ok, it’s not as spectacular, but still…

Stuffed cherry tomatoes and cucumbers

Look at these beauties! 🙂 I just love these cherry tomatoes! So pretty and yummy... always a hit!
And I sometimes add a bit of smoked salmon on top of the stuffed cucumbers, depending on my guests... it adds a little fancy touch. Serve them with capers and fine slices of onions... delicious!!
Servings 12

Ingredients

  • 24 cherry tomatoes
  • 2 cucumbers
  • 1 container garlic and herbs cream cheese spread
  • 2 tbsp sour cream
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh chive
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • salt & pepper
  • sprigs of fresh chive to garnish

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, mix all ingredients except cucumbers and tomatoes
  • Pour the cream cheese mixture into a pastry bag or cut a corner of a Ziploc bag and use it as a pastry pouch
  • Cut cucumbers into 1-inch slices
  • Using a small spoon, make a cavity in each slice, without piercing the bottom
  • Cut off the top and hollow out the mini tomatoes. Dry cavities well with a paper towel
  • Spread the vegetables on a serving plate
  • Using a pastry bag, fill the cavities of tomatoes and cucumber slices with the cream cheese mixture, finishing the tops in rosettes
  • Garnish with chive sprigs
  • Cover well and refrigerate until serving time

#2 Mini-Pizzas

Easy appetizer: the best mini-pizzaMmmm… Pizza! What more can I say? ha! ha! We all love pizza!

But these little ones are the best! I use mini-naan flatbreads here. Much easier to make! And, oh, did I tell you that you can make them ahead? Having only to throw them in the oven a few minutes before serving time is the best!

Mini-Pizzas

I just love pizza... almost as much as I love desserts! 😄 Mini-pizzas on flat Naan bread are the best! I'm giving you these 2 versions ( all dressed and vegetarian ) but the possibilities are endless... as long as there is a lot of cheese, they will all be perfect!
Servings 12

Ingredients

  • 36 mini flat Naam bread
  • 1 jar pizza sauce
  • 1 small pepperoni, thinly sliced
  • 12 mushrooms, thinly sliced
  • ½ green bell pepper in thin strips
  • ½ red bell pepper in thin strips
  • 15 stuffed green olives sliced
  • 1 small onion in thin strips
  • 1 cup pre-cooked broccoli cut into small florets
  • 2 cups grated mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup yellow or marble cheddar cheese

Instructions

  • Spread the mini Naan bread on a large cooking sheet, lined with parchment paper
  • Spread a spoonful of pizza sauce on each Naan
  • Top half of the mini Naan with mushrooms, peppers, olives, onions, and broccoli
  • Top the other half with mushrooms, peppers, olives, and pepperoni
  • Sprinkle grated mozzarella and cheddar on each bread: the more cheese, the better!
  • Cook at 400° for 10 to 15 minutes. Finish cooking at broil if needed, until cheese is melted and lightly toasted
  • * Do not garnish the pizzas more than a few hours in advance, otherwise, the bread will become wet

Very easy to make and so, so delightful! Let me tell you something; they were all gone after a few minutes only!! I will make sure to double the recipe next time!

#4 Mini Sherry & Shrimps Phyllo Bites

Wow! I fell in love with these! Such an incredibly easy and yummy appetizer!

This recipe is by Dara, From Cookin Canuck.com

I have to admit that I cheat…I had no phyllo on hand, so I used won ton cups, but next time, I swear I will follow the exact recipe! 😉 Again, I suggest you try this recipe and let her know how much you liked her Mini Shrimp bites!

#5 Htipiti / Greek Red Pepper & Feta Dip

If you are looking for a fabulous dip, stop searching! You just found it!  I was so sad when I saw the empty bowl! I could eat that dip all night long. You can be sure I will double the recipe the next time I serve it! I already planned what to do with the leftovers…well, hopefully, I will have some! ha! ha!

#6 Peach & Bacon Bites

Easy appetizer: Peach & Bacon BitesThis is a great appetizer that I often make. You know, the kind of 3-ingredients recipe that we all like. It can’t be easier, but how delicious!

Any dish with bacon is always a success; imagine one with bacon AND balsamic glaze!

It’s my brother-in-law’s favorite… but please, don’t tell my sister, she might be a little jealous! ha! ha!

Just in case you missed it, these lovely appetizers were part of my no-stress 5-course dinner party post. 😉 I’m sure you’ll grab great ideas there!

Peach and bacon bites

One of the easiest 4-ingredients appetizers! So tasty and colorful!
Servings 6

Ingredients

  • 5 peaches cut into 8 quarters
  • 20 slices of half-cooked bacon cut into half
  • 40 fresh basil leaves
  • Balsamic glaze

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Put a basil leaf on each peach quarter.
  • Wrap each quarter with a half-slice of pre-cooked bacon and fix it with a toothpick.
  • Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until bacon is fully cooked. ( Don't overcook, peaches have to stay firm ).
  • Transfer to a serving plate and drizzle with the balsamic glaze.

Notes

Very important not to overcook; peaches have to remain firm, so they are easier to grab with the toothpicks

#7 Cream Cheese & Pesto Brick, with homemade Melba crackers

Easy appetizer: cream cheese & pesto brick
*Feel free to use store-bought crackers if you run out of time! Or even grilled mini-pitas or Tostitos. No matter how I serve it, it’s always a hit!

Cream cheese and pesto brick with homemade crackers

A great 5-ingredients appetizer to make either on the BBQ or in the oven. And so easy to do!
Servings 6

Ingredients

  • 1 8oz pack of cream cheese
  • ¼ cup basil pesto
  • 1 tomato, hollow out and diced
  • ¼ cup green onions, diced
  • 1 cup grated old cheddar cheese

For the homemade crackers

  • 1 thin French baguette

Instructions

  • Heat the BBQ to medium-high.
  • Fold a sheet of aluminum foil in half and fold the sides to make a border.
  • Lay the cream cheese on top.
  • Cover with pesto, tomato dice, green onions, and grated cheese.
  • Place on the grill and cook for 10 to 15 minutes or until cheddar cheese is melted.
  • Slide the aluminum sheet onto a serving plate, and fold each side if needed.
  • Add the homemade crackers around and a few knives...and enjoy!

For the homemade crackers

  • Preheat the oven to 375°
  • Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Cut the baguette into 1/4-inch slices.
  • Put the bread slices on the baking sheet.
  • Bake for 10 to 15 minutes or until golden brown, turning once halfway through.
  • Let cool and dry for at least 3 to 4 hours on a wire rack before storing them in a metal box.

Notes

These homemade melba crackers will keep up in a metal box for a week.

#8 Pioneer Woman Olive Bread

How I love this recipe! Wow! It’s so, so delightful! Olives and cheese…what a perfect match! 😊 I know this is a recipe that my family will ask for, again and again! I’m so happy I discovered it! Believe me; you’ll be more than happy too! We never have enough of these easy recipes. I’m already planning to serve it at my next Super Bowl Party! ha! ha! Even if it’s a women’s olive bread, males should like it too!!

#9 Brie, Pears & Pancetta Canapés

Easy appetizer: Brie, pear & pancetta canapesAnother easy-easy recipe!

I like to use Pancetta because it’s a little less salty, but feel free to use bacon; it’s even better! 😉 and you could also use the oven instead of the BBQ…

When I host a BBQ dinner party, I like to do as much cooking as I can on the BBQ; I feel it’s part of the dinner party… have a look here to see how I plan a perfect BBQ party; I also share other great recipes… and my favorite dessert on the BBQ too!

Brie, pears and pencetta canapés

These brie and pears canapés are so spectacular!
They will please your guests for sure. No one will suspect that they are so easy to make!
Servings 6

Ingredients

  • 36 ¼-inch slices of French baguette
  • 36 thin slices of Brie cheese
  • 3 pears cut into 12 narrow quarters
  • 1 tsp or so lemon juice
  • 18 slices of precooked pancetta, cut into halves
  • Balsamic vinegar glaze
  • chopped chives or green onions for garnishing

Instructions

  • Brush each pear quarter with lemon juice.
  • Preheat BBQ to medium-high heat.
  • Brush the BBQ grill with vegetable oil.
  • Grill the baguette slices in the oven or BBQ until light brown. Set aside without covering them.
  • Wrap each pear quarter with a half-slice of pancetta.
  • Place the pear quarters on the bbq, with the seal side down, and grill for a few minutes on each side.
  • Meanwhile, place a brie slice on each slide of the grilled baguette and place them on a large serving plate.
  • Once the pear's quarters are well grilled, place quarters on top of brie cheese.
  • Drizzle some balsamic glaze on each quarter.
  • Garnish with chives or green onions...and enjoy!

Notes

This is a great appetizer, but it's also kind of heavy. So I suggest you don't serve more than six per person... but four is the best. You want to ensure that your guests still have room to enjoy the rest of your fabulous meal! 😉

#10 Cheese & White Wine Canapés

Easy appetizer: Cheese & white wine canapesLast but not least…

You won’t believe how easy these simple cheesy Canapés are! I’ve been making these for; I don’t know, I would say, maybe more than 20 years? And it still is a success every time I make them! It proves that the easiest recipes are often the better! 😉

Cheese and white wine canapés

That is the easiest recipe on Earth! So versatile! And loved by all!
Servings 6

Ingredients

  • 36 slices French baguette
  • ½ cup white wine
  • cup grated old cheddar cheese
  • 2 green onions finely sliced
  • cayenne pepper
  • paprika

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°
  • Line a large sheet pan with parchment paper
  • Pour white wine into a small bowl
  • In another bowl, combine green onions and cheese
  • Dip one side of each baguette slice, one at a time, into the wine and place on the sheet pan, wine side up
  • Spread cheese and green onions on bread slices
  • Sprinkle with a bit of cayenne pepper and paprika to add color
  • Bake for 10 to 15 minutes until golden brown.

#11 Crostini with Balsamic Strawberry & Ricotta

Ok, I know! It was supposed to be a Top 10… but I had to share that perfect recipe I just discovered! These Crostinis are so elegant! 😊 That’s why I kept them for the end.

I love mixing fruits and cheese; it’s always a success; now wait until you try these! Just like me, you should fall in love at the first bite! A fabulous blend of flavors and textures. Just love them!
