How to save time blogging… There are so many questions!

Won’t you love to save time?

We all know how posting new content regularly is essential to our blogs. I mean great in-deep content!

Of course, that means you must research and find images ( more to come in our next post!) and then write your article… So, if you ask me if blogging is time-consuming, the answer is YES! ha! ha! (But also so fun and satisfying!)

Now, won’t you love to save time on post-writing? I bet you do! 😉

So, let me share some ideas to save time when blog post writing. The best time-saving tips I now use and love!

As you know, blogging is much more than writing blog posts. Promoting our posts is what takes up the most time.

Phew! So many things to do! Creating our Pinterest pins and promoting them. Promote our blog on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. Oh, and be part of some Facebook groups! Wow!! That is a lot!

I’m not retired yet and still work full-time (50+ hours a week) and spend 20 to 25 hours on my blog (sometimes more!) My husband and I are also working on converting a van (weekends only!) And, of course, I want to spend time with my family. So, believe me, every minute counts!

I just recently opened my Facebook account ( I know! but better later than never!) and joined a Facebook group… To realize that I have NO time for that! I add to save time elsewhere to be able to dedicate a few hours a week to Facebook, ha! ha!  I’m not planning to be on Instagram or Twitter for now! Oh no! Not until I retire!

Seriously, how can I save time?!

What are the time-saving techniques I could use to become a more efficient blogger?

I wrote a list of all my blogging tasks to see where I could cut time.

Where do I spend most of my time? What could I do to save time?… What if I wasn’t the only one with a crazy schedule?! 🤔

That’s when I came up with this Time-Saving Post Series idea! 😊

Schedule Time To Write

The first and most important thing to do is to reserve writing time on your schedule!

My dedicated writing time is early in the morning, while others prefer to write at night.

No matter what’s your favorite period of the day, you must add it to your agenda. Having it on your schedule will ensure you respect this time. So, what time of the day do you feel the more creative? Ideally, this is the time you should dedicate to post-writing.

Of course, it takes more time at the beginning to write the perfect blog post, but the more you write, the faster you will get.

Avoid Distraction To Save Time

Obvious, right? ha! ha! But not always so easy!

Distractions can come from everywhere!  Of course, you can do nothing about the noise from outside or your neighbors, but you can control the rest!

Remember? This is your time!

Turn off your phone. Don’t reply to any emails or texts, and of course, turn off all notifications! Those notifications are so disturbing! If you want to keep your focus on your blog post and write faster, don’t let any of these disturb you.

Some like to lesson to music while they are writing, but I prefer not to. I like a quiet room. Oh! And please, turn off the TV too! There’s no biggest distraction than TV!

skills we need to be a good blogger

♥ Having a dedicated space to write is a great idea too.

Even if I can write almost everywhere, I find that having some kind of workspace is more efficient. Your family will know and respect that when you’re sitting there, you are working!… Well, most of the time! 😉

And that workspace is also where you’ll keep all your notes and lists. Not having to search for them will make you save time too!

An Idea List To Save You Time Blogging

There comes a time when even the most successful bloggers run out of topic ideas. Because we have to post regularly, it could be challenging to know what to write about next. Of course, you don’t want to face writer’s block, aren’t you?

Better have an idea list and be prepared!

Oh, Gush! I have so many ideas! Let me tell you! My idea list is quite long!

And because good ideas can come from anywhere and at any time, I always keep a notebook and pen close to me. And I write absolutely every idea or post idea on it, even the silly ones! We never know; I might use them for a book one day… or any other project.

Sometimes, some of these ideas won’t give me enough for only one blog post, but many times, I combine a few of them to write a new post.

I really love that list!! 😊

Blog Post Content List Or Plan

Having a schedule/post calendar and a Blog Post Plan is the key to success! Feel free to use mine! I use it for each of my posts and just couldn’t live without it!…

…and it’s totally free!! 😉 (How we love free gifts, aren’t we?)

my simple blog planner

No matter how many times a month you publish new content, knowing in advance what you’ll write about will save you a lot of time.

I try to stick to my plan as much as I can. But I sometimes change it a little if something extraordinary happens or if I find really good info that I know will be helpful for my readers.

For example, one of my last posts was about how I ranked on Google’s first page at 57 years old. Gush! I was so proud and excited when I discovered that not one but five of my posts were showing on Google’s first page! Wow! I couldn’t believe it! I had to share it with the world! ha! ha!

Then, a question came to my mind: I mean a crucial question! Was My Blog Ready To Get Traffic? What if my readers weren’t ready for blog traffic? Gush! I had to tell them about it! So, I wrote another post that wasn’t on my plan.

But thank God! I’m usually more self-disciplined than that! ha! ha!

How To Edit Posts To Save Time

Nothing takes more time than writing and editing at the same time!

Of course, the editing process is crucial; we all want well-written blog posts, don’t we?

We are in a creative zone when writing a post. So, better write your posts first and edit them after. Not only will this help you keep a better focus on your article, but it will help your words flow naturally.

Stopping every two seconds to edit will distract you from your article.

Like many other bloggers, I like using Grammarly, but I turn it off while I’m writing. English is not my first language, so imagine how many mistakes I make when writing a post! It gets very distracting to see all these red lines everywhere!! ha! ha! I now keep grammar and spelling checking for the end! That makes me save a lot of time 😉

Post Checklist To Save Time

a post checklist to save time blogging

This is one of my best tools to save time! How I love my Post Checklist!!

I use this checklist for all my new posts. It’s the best way not to forget anything!

If you don’t work with a checklist, I suggest you create one…now!! You’ll thank me for that later! 😉

Work In Bulk To Save Time

Another fabulous way to save time is to work in bulk. Here are some of the things you can do all at once:

  • Add images
  • Add links
  • Check your links
  • Add “NoFollow” links*
  • Add your freebies and opt-in forms
  • Write your section headlines
  • Make your table of contents

Feel free to add any other things to that list. The more bulk work you do, the more time you’ll save!

Yes, working in bulk will make you save time, but focus on one thing at a time. Doing two or three things at the same time gives you the impression of being more efficient, but in fact, it’s quite the opposite. Do one thing, do it well, and then move on to another; believe me, this is the best way to save time!

*If you add affiliate links to your posts, you must make them NoFollow links. This is one of Google’s rules we have to follow to avoid being penalized.*

Save Time Post Writing

time-saving tips to save time blogging

Now, let’s talk about how I save time writing my posts.

Yes, this method makes me save a lot of time, but it also makes writing much easier!

I always do all research first.

Once I have my topic and keywords and know what questions I want to answer, I draw the outline of my post.

I like to start by choosing all my section titles, the main points I want to discuss, or any other crucial info. I often use the answer to a question as a section or sub-section title. And I also make sure to include keywords in every title and throughout my posts (SEO matters…)

Once I set that layout up, I fill in the blanks with all the great info I want to share! And voila!😊 Pretty easy, right?

When I finish my post, I then make my table of contents. I find it easier to work that way, and it really makes me save a lot of time!

To Conclude
