Ready to learn about my favorite blogging tools?

But just before we jump into our topic, make sure you save this.

I’m sure you’ll be happy to refer to it anytime! It’s so handy to have a list of our favorites.

(this is one of my favorite tools… more about it in a minute!)

Amazing blogging tools

The Best Blogging Tools… Let’s Start!

Time to dive into our topic and talk about all my favorite tools.

Just so you know, there is no particular order to that list. I love them all 😊 from first to last!

But, because we have to start somewhere…

skills we need to be a good blogger

The Best Blogging Tools…The List!

1-Yoast SEO

This is a WordPress Plugin I installed on my first blogging day!

I had almost no idea what SEO was, even though I knew how important it was. So, I figured that I better be prepared! 😊

Of course, it won’t teach you SEO, but it will definitely help you!

Meta description, a key phrase, SEO title, readability of your text… it covers everything!

It definitely is a must-have plugin. You will find it in the Plugin section of your WordPress dashboard. There’s a free version ( which I still use ), but you can upgrade to the Pro version anytime.

But, instead of upgrading to that Pro plan, I decided to invest elsewhere and learn SEO!

We can find tons of info about SEO online, but I preferred to buy an e-book (actually, I bought two! 😉 ) instead of wasting my precious time searching online.

I opted for Easy On-Page SEO by Debbie Gartner and Easy Backlinks for SEO, also by Debbie, and I never regretted it! I learned so much from those two e-books! And I refer to them frequently. They were worth every penny I spent on them. I strongly recommend them! After reading those books, I swear; SEO will become a breeze! You can buy them separately or go for the bundle Easy On-Page Seo + Easy Backlinks to save a little money, we all like little discounts, aren’t we?

After all, we want to have people reading our blog posts, right? So better learn SEO right from the start!

2-Grammarly

How I love this tool!

As you know, English is not my first language. So, from the start, it was clear to my mind that I would need help! Having a tool that could correct me anytime gives me peace of mind.

I learned so much with Grammarly ( and still learning! ha! ha! )

But, even if English is your first language, I recommend it… we don’t want any typos, don’t we? 😉

The free version is perfectly fine. Find more info about Grammarly here.

I also use DeepL Pro to help me translate from French to English. So, so useful for me! They can translate dozen of other languages too! I might learn Germain one day! ha! ha!

3-Write better headlines: Headline Analyser from CoSchedule

The name says it all!

This tool helps us find the best title for our blog post based on SEO analysis. Simply enter your title and wait for your SEO score. Then, try different options for this title until you’re fully satisfied with your SEO score. Easy as 1-2-3!!

I suggest you use this free tool ( yes, a Pro Version is also available! ). Titles are so important; you better be prepared and use the Better Headline Analyser from the start!

The Best Blogging Tools…Plan For Success!

4-A good blog planner

Obviously, this is the key to success! You need, need, need to have a plan! You will quickly realize that a plan will save you time.

No matter the plan, even if you don’t always stick to that plan, you need some guidance, especially at the beginning.

Blogging can turn into a nightmare if you don’t know what to do or what to talk about.

Not only will a good plan help you find topic ideas, but it will also help you schedule on social media. You have to talk about your great posts so people read them! You can write the best content on Earth; if no one knows about it, you won’t get any traffic to your blog. Imagine how hard it would be to monetize your blog with zero traffic…

I highly recommend you take a piece of paper and write down what you want to blog about and how you want to share it! Or feel free to use mine! 😉My Simple Blog Plan is by far my favorite blogging tool! The one I use every day! In this article about how to find new blog post content ideas, I explain how I use it to find tons of post ideas to add to my blogging schedule.

5-Keyword Planner

This is a fabulous free tool! I can’t tell you how happy I am to have discovered it!

Guess what?  Ha! Ha! They also offer a Pro Version, but I’m very happy with the free one and still use it!

Keyword Planner will give you keyword ideas and help you reach out to people interested in what you have to say.

Simply enter a keyword related to your topic. Not only will they propose other related keywords, but they will also tell you about the average monthly searches for each and how is the competition for those keywords…

You probably know that keywords are the base of SEO. And the more keywords you add to your posts, the more chances your readers will find your posts!

Well, kind of! I know it’s a little confusing! 🤔🤔

But if you want to learn absolutely everything about keywords, I recommend you read this fantastic book. It’s called Get Your Keywords Together ( cute name isn’t it? ). Believe me, keywording will be no secret after reading this book! Trinity Owen explains keyword research like no one! 😉

I recently started learning and using the Chrome Extension Keywords Everywhere, which is another great keyword research tool. I’m not an expert yet ( far from being one!! ), but Trinity explains it very well in her e-book.

Amazing blogging tools!

6-Canva… (the best of the best blogging tools!!)

That is one of my favorite tools! I just love creating things on Canva! 🖤

If you don’t know what Canva is, it’s the easiest design tool! Even with no design skills, you’ll be able to create fabulous designs!

Even though the free version offers a lot and can be enough, I went for the Pro Version this time.

Because it’s a tool I use almost every day, I thought investing a little was a good idea.

With the paid version, you can access absolutely any fonts, pictures, images, or any other things they offer. They have tons of templates to choose from, making it very easy to create a design.

With Canva, you can create all your social media posts, Pinterest pins, freebies, logos, videos, or any other presentation. No doubts! Canva is the perfect tool! They are so easy to find! 😉 canva.com!

I love Canva so much that I wrote an entire post about it! The Best Canva Hacks To Save Time. Don’t miss it! I share all the time-saving tricks I use to create images and designs. I should say, unique images… 😉

7-Deposit Photos

As you know, images are essential to any blog. But you have to use the right ones! You just can’t use any image or photo you find online, or you risk getting sued! Of course, you want to avoid that!

I use Canva for many of my images, but we sometimes need a little more or a more specific one.

That’s why having a place to buy stock photos is crucial. I buy all my images and vectors from Deposit Photos. Their prices are reasonable, and they also offer great promotions from time to time. I usually buy a large stock around Black Friday and am good for a long time.

There are other stock photos providers, such as Unsplash or Exposure, but I prefer Deposit Photo ( personal preferences! 😊)

***   **   ***

8-Tiny Pro

I use Tiny Pro for absolutely all the images I share on my blog! All of them!

Here’s how they explain their unique technique:

TinyPNG uses smart lossy compression techniques to reduce the file size of your WEBP, JPEG, and PNG files. By selectively decreasing the number of colors in the image, fewer bytes are required to store the data. The effect is nearly invisible, but it makes a huge difference in file size!”

In other words, having too large images on your website will slow it down, and of course, we don’t want a slow website, right?

When pages take too long to download, your readers will get impatient and leave your site 🙁 without reading the awesome content you published! So make sure you do everything you can to keep them on your blog as long as possible!!

*There’s a free version ( TinyPNG ) but the Pro costs so little that I quickly switched to it!

Still there? Better be because there’s more!

9-WP Tasty Pins

Remember that image I asked you to save earlier?

Amazing blogging tools

Well, I use WP Tasty Pins to have it easy to pin to Pinterest. I know there is a free way to get the same result by coding, but as coding isn’t really my cup of tea, I prefer to use this tool!

It’s very easy to use, and of course, it makes us save a lot of time!

Plus, having your pins saved to Pinterest directly from your blog post is good for SEO 😉

So, it is worth each penny I pay for it!

You will find it on your left sidebar, under Plugins.

10-Tailwind

Tailwind is a scheduling tool… I should say, the only pin scheduling one approved by Pinterest!

How I love that tool! I like making pins for the month ( or longer! ) and scheduling them easily. That’s giving me peace of mind because having to pin on Pinterest daily can quickly become time-consuming! And working in bulk is so much faster 😉

They will build a marketing plan for you each month, and they also have A.I. to assist you if needed ( I never tried it, but I’m so curious about it, so I added it to my to-do list for now! ).

There is a free Tailwind version, but the paid version offers way more, like access to the Tailwind Communities and 200 posts a month. Of course, they offer many different plans, but I use the basic one for now, and it’s perfect for me.

Follow this link for a free month of Tailwind; it’s the best way to see if you like it 😉

11-WP Recipes

If you are a food blogger, then you need this tool to share your fantastic recipes!

Actually, it’s one of the Plugins WordPress offers. They offer a free and a Premium version. I use the free one, and it works well for me.

You can also use it for any other recipes, such as handmade soap, candles, cleaning products, or anything else you can think about!

I use it every time I share recipes. It’s easy to read for our readers; they can also print the recipe directly from the file.

You can also choose from different templates to match your brand and style.

We are almost done with our best blogging tools! 😉

12-Google Search Console

That tool is a must for any blogger!

If you are interested in learning about SEO, then you have to be familiar with Google Search Console. As long as you have your account properly set up, this tool holds all of your website’s organic search statistics. If you’re not already using Google Search Console, then I highly recommend opening an account.

I’m not a big fan of stats, but this free tool is a mine of gold!

I also use it to index my new posts whenever I hit the publish button.

Indexing your posts is so important for SEO. It’s a way to tell Google that your content exists and needs to be added to their database to appear in the search results. If your blog isn’t indexed, it will not show up in any Google results… and of course, no one will know that your fabulous blog exists! 🙁

Believe me; you need this tool! I wish I had known about it when I started my blog.

I installed Google Search Console as soon as I heard from it. Believe me or not, I was choked when I checked my posts to see if they were correctly indexed. Only one out of 42 was indexed! Gush! And I wasn’t even aware of it!

So please, don’t make the same mistake! Open your free account and ensure all your blog posts are correctly indexed right from the start!

13-Convert Kit

Convert Kit is an email marketing tool.

I use this tool to build and manage my email list.

I create a landing page ( using their templates ) and add a form for any freebie I want to give away, and they take care of the rest! ha! ha! Just love it! So, so easy to use!

You can also use Convert Kit to build your email campaigns or newsletter. You could also use it to sell your own products!

It’s a very complete and helpful tool. Again, you will find it on the left sidebar under Plugins.

14-Grow Social by Mediavine ( finally the last of that Best Blogging Tools’ list! )

The best blogging tool to share on social media

Because you want your readers to share your great content! That means you have to make it easy for them.

Grow Social by Mediavine is a social sharing plugin. It lets you add social share buttons, increasing interactions and social media shares.

The free version of the plugin comes with five of the biggest social media platforms, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, and LinkedIn.

You can display these social sharing buttons on the top or bottom of each of your posts and pages, or you can have them follow your readers as they scroll up and down the page.

To tell you the truth, I’m not a big fan of these floating bars, especially when using a mobile device. I find they’re always in the way and make your site look too cluttered. I prefer to give a better experience to my readers so they stay on my site longer. 😊… This is a personal preference, but of course, it’s totally up to you to choose!

You will also find Grow Social in your Plugin tab.

15- I love PDF

** Update!**

Oops! I was working on my latest freebie when I realized I had forgotten to tell you about this great tool! Wow, I can’t believe I forgot it!

I Love PDF is a great PDF file merger. I don’t use it every day, of course, but I’m happy to know that it’s there.

They have a paid version, but I use the free one, more than enough for my needs.

I used it a lot for my books. I made the covers and all table of contents in Canva on PDF documents and the core of my books in separate ones.  Once done, I used I Love PDF to combine them. Easy peasy! 😉 All you have to do is drop your files in the order you want them, and voila!

The Best Blogging Tools… To Conclude

So, these are my favorite tools, the ones I couldn’t live without! These all make my blogging journey much easier. And I swear all these tools are easy to use and perfect for beginners. In fact, I wish I had known about some of these when I started my blog!

But as you probably know by now ( and if you don’t know yet, you will find out soon!! ha! ha! ), a blog is a never-ending story!  That’s the beauty of blogging, and I just love it!

Every time we learn something new, we discover something else we need to know.
