We all have something to say, and blogging is the best way to say it!
No matter what you blog about, there is always someone out there to read you.
Choose whatever topic or niche ( I have a long list of 75 blogging niche ideas right here!) ; as long as you are passionate about it, you’ll always have something to say! 🙂
Soon you will see that your blog is the main thing you will think about! Ha! Ha! I have so many ideas!… but so little time (for now!) to explore each of these ideas… I still work full-time… I blog full-time… and I learn full-time! ha! ha! But I have so much fun!
I’m still in the learning process, and the more I learn, the more I want to know! There are so many new things to discover. To be honest, I think the learning process will simply never end! ha! ha! That’s why I love blogging so much!
I just can’t wait to retire, so if you already are (Lucky You!! ), you have no excuses! You will have plenty of time to blog and learn all you’ll need to know.
But seriously, having that much free time in retirement is sometimes scary… it’s almost sure to be boring! But having a blog gives you a goal each day. A reason to get up in the morning.
And imagine how fun it is to make new blogging friends! Fabulous people from all over the world!

Over50? Time To Start A Blog Too!… How Much Time
The best thing about blogging is only you decide how many hours you want to invest in it! No one is there to impose a schedule.
You can choose to work on your blog for one or two hours a day or more. But keep in mind that we are a little slower at the beginning, so each task requires a little longer, but no worries, we get used pretty quickly!!
I’m an early bird, so I like to work on my blog early in the morning ( before I start my full-time job! ), but most of my blogging friends prefer to work at night or in the afternoon while their kids are at school or taking a nap… but good news! We don’t have to worry about kids anymore!! Totally up to you to work on your blog whenever you want! You are the big boss here!! 😊

Honestly, blogging is the best thing I have ever done!
It is so satisfying! Especially when my two grandchildren look at it… I’m so proud to be able to talk about technical stuff with my 14 years-old granddaughter! And she’s kind of proud of her (young!) Grandma too!
Having one of your readers email you is the best reward of all!
I truly believe that everyone should give it a try! 😉 and if you are reading this, it probably means that you thought about it too…
So, stop thinking about it and just dive into it!!
I can say without a doubt that you will learn faster by doing things than by reading about them!
But before you jump and start your blog, let me give you some advice…
First, Don’t Aim For Perfection right now!
You will learn many new things every day and improve your website as you go! It’s kind of a never-ending story.
And yes, you will make a few mistakes here and there, but it really doesn’t matter because you can go back and fix them anytime!

I spent so much time for months reading everything I could on how to start a blog … Until I realized that it was a waste of time! I should create my website and start blogging first!
That’s the main thing I’ve learned 😉
I now read and study only the topic I’m ready to improve at this point.
I then do whatever I have to do and move on to another topic. Believe me; it’s much easier that way!
I understand things a lot better since I started my blog. It is so much easier to understand something when you can apply what you’re learning right away!
I stopped trying to learn everything at once. I quickly realized that I learn faster once I’m at this step…
This is why I highly recommend that you do the same! We all know how time is precious! So, why waste it? I stopped following all these gurus and concentrated my energy on only a few ones. The ones I trusted and were helpful to me.
Yes, I invested a little in learning and blogging tools because I wanted to save time. Having all the info we need in one place is so much easier. 😉We can quickly get overwhelmed and all mixed up by reading too much stuff…
The five best e-books I bought
The Treasure Map to Blogging from Ling ( Finsavvy Panda ) is the first e-book I bought ( and I loved it! ) so helpful! And, of course, I bought her other book about Pinterest strategies.
The Golden Compass To Pinterest helped me understand Pinterest; believe me, Pinterest is a beast all by itself, but because of this fabulous book, I now understand, and I conquered that big bad beast!! ha! ha!
And what about SEO?
Of course, we write blog posts because we want to share them with others… But they have to find us first!
I mean, what’s the point of writing all that great content if no one ever reads it? 🙁 That’s why it’s essential to learn a bit about SEO from the start ( which I wish I have done! ), But better later than never!
Easy On-Page Seo and Easy Backlinks for SEO from Debbie Gartner are the best to learn SEO. She explains everything so clearly! Believe me, after reading these, you’ll become an SEO expert! ha! ha! Ok, maybe not, but you will understand it, and it’s enough at the beginning. You will refer to these e-books often and improve your SEO strategy down the road.
Debbie also offers a Bundle: Easy On-Page SEO + Easy Backlinks to make you save a little. That’s what I bought, and I never regretted it! They are worth every penny I spent on them!
And because Keywords are a big part of SEO, of course, I had to learn about them too! (I told you, it’s a never-ending story!! 😆). I find a fabulous book about keywords. Trinity explains how to find them using only free tools ( and we all love free things, aren’t we? ).
She called her e-book Get Your Keywords Together ( cute name, isn’t it? ). This book will teach you everything you need to know about keywords!… and she offers some free bonuses too! 😉
So yes, I invested a little, but it wasn’t that much, considering all the time I saved and still saved because I refer to most of these books often.
Over 50? Time To Start A Blog Too!… The Plan
We all need a plan to guide us through our blogging journey.
Of course, I followed the plan I made at the beginning… but obviously, I had to tweak it a little down the road! ha! ha!
But even if your plan is not perfect, it is still better than not having a plan at all! Believe me, things go fast, and it’s reassuring to know that you have some kind of a guide to follow!
So take out your pencil and throw a plan!… Or feel free to use mine! I use My Simple Blog Plan every day, and it is my favorite tool! It helps me stay organized and helps me stay on top of everything. I just love having a plan, don’t you?

This is all so exciting, isn’t it?! 😊

And yes! Blogging can also bring you a little income… or way more, depending on how serious you are about your blog!
That would be nice to have that extra cash to travel more, to go more often to some fancy restaurants, or to offer gifts to our family, right? 😉The good news is there are many ways to make money with your blog. Of course, it’s not our main topic here, but it’s great to know you could!

If I had only one thing to say, only one reason to give, I would say that the pride my small blog brings me is the best feeling ever!
