What Is Blog Traffic?

Of course, you know what blog traffic is!

Blog traffic is visitors coming to your blog.

And organic traffic will come from any search engine, such as Google, Bing, or Yahoo.

You can also get a lot of traffic to your blog from Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram, or other social media.

Traffic can also come from other bloggers that link to one of your blog posts, which is good for SEO and great for building your credibility!

But the best traffic will come from your loyal readers! The ones that are in love with you! ❤️These can be called followers…and we all want tons of them, aren’t we?

So, to turn readers into followers, you need to do something for them. Of course, you must always provide great post content so your readers learn from you, but you also have to share gifts and great tips.

Good news! That’s exactly what we’ll cover here! So stay tuned; you’re about to discover all the best tips to make your readers fall in love with you!!

*Disclosure: I may receive a small commission if you make a purchase through one of my affiliate links, of course, at no additional cost to you!  I share and promote only products I use, trust, and love! 🖤 Products I know you will love too! 😉Please read our disclosure for more information.

How To Prepare Your Blog For Traffic

Yes, we want (and need!) traffic to our blog!

But we also want visitors to stay on our blog!

So, your blog must be well-structured and easy to navigate.

Here is what your blog needs to be well-prepared for blog traffic:

  • A Menu (top, footer, and sidebar) to make it easier for your visitors
  • A Great About Me Page (more about it in the next section!)
  • Social Sharing Buttons (use Grow by Mediavine, a free tool you should get!)
  • A Save It Button for your Pinterest graphics (I use the Tasty Pins plugin and love it!)
  • A Comment Box so people can comment on your posts
  • A section/widget where you Promote your Services, Products, or Freebies.

And please, hold back a little with ads, or your blog will look too cluttered. It could be very annoying for your readers!

About Me Page, A Targeted One!

get your blog ready for traffic, your About Me Page

Your About Me page is usually the most visited page on your blog.

Visitors want to know you better and connect with you, not with your blog. They need to know there’s a real human behind the screen. But be careful; it’s not your entire bio they want to read!

Your About Me Page is where you will talk a little about yourself, about what you accomplished, but most importantly, it’s where you will tell your readers what you can do to help them.

You could use a bullet list to briefly explain what topics you cover on your blog so they know right away what’s in there for them. As always, clear information will make it easier for your new friends. 😊

Also, add internal links to some of your most popular posts or the ones containing affiliate products or services you want to promote. And why not include some of your freebies too? Remember that your About Me Page will be the one getting more traffic… better use it as a marketing tool, right? 😉

What Internal Links Can Do For You

As mentioned earlier, we want our visitors to stay on our blog!

The best way to do so is by adding internal links to some of your other relevant posts.

Not only will it offers more information to your readers, but it will also ensure your visitors will stay longer on your website. You don’t want them to leave your site after a few seconds, don’t you?

The longer they stay, the better! Of course, it’s good for SEO, but the longer they stay, the more they’ll get to know you better…and the more chances they become loyal readers. And we love, love, love loyal readers!! ❤️

Grow Your Email List

You probably heard many times that Money Is In The List!

All successful bloggers have big email lists. They use these lists to connect with their readers by sharing good advice and tips, but also to sell their products or promote some affiliate ones.

The easiest way to grow your email list is to offer great freebies to your readers. They are also called lead magnets.

It must be something that will help them solve a problem.

Could be any kind of printables, lists or checklists, all kinds of planners, an e-course or e-book, or any other kind of digital product.

Have a look at mines; it might give you ideas!

ha! ha! OK, my freebie list is not that long for now, but I’m working on it! 😉

You will also need an Email Marketing provider, such as Mailer Lite or Convert Kit (which I use and love!), to keep track of all your subscribers and create email campaigns.

Growing your email list from the start is the best way to engage with your readers/followers. Even if you don’t send them emails every day, an email once in a while to promote your newest posts will bring more traffic to your blog.

Create Products To Make Money Blogging

If you plan to monetize your blog, having products to sell or paid services to offer is a great way to do so.

Need some ideas?

  • E-courses
  • E-books
  • Printables
  • Templates
  • Planners
  • Guides
  • Lists/Checklists

If you’re an expert in a niche, e-courses or e-books are fabulous ways to make income and establish your authority.

Of course, offering a service that can help your readers is an awesome way to make money with your blog! Take any opportunities to promote that service.

Make sure your products or offers are ready so you can take advantage of the traffic you get to your blog. The sooner you promote these, the sooner you’ll start to make money. 😉

Promote Affiliates To Make Passive Income

Get your blog ready for traffic, promote affiliate marketing

I just love affiliate marketing!

Yes, it’s a good way to make a little extra money, but more than that, it’s a good way to help your readers.

How I love to promote a product that helped me solve a problem. I want my readers to trust me, so I only promote products I truly believe in and love! The ones I know my followers/friends will love too. ❤️

Try to find products and services related to your niche that you can promote. There are tons of them! There are affiliate programs for most of them, and it’s really easy to do. But make sure your affiliate links are No Follow links so M Google doesn’t penalize you! Here’s what WordPress Beginner has to say about No Follow links and how to add them to your links. It’s very, very easy to do, even if you have no coding experience, just like me! 😉

Making Money From Ads

Ads are another great way to make a little extra money from your blog.

But make sure you don’t have too many!

I personally hate when there are too many popups on a blog! It’s the best way to make me leave that site, even if the article seems interesting.

I like to read posts to learn something, not to get bombarded by ads! So, again, avoid adding too much.

keeping your visitors on your site longer will pay off more in the long run than all the advertising you add to your posts.

But don’t get me wrong; I’m not saying you shouldn’t have any, just be subtle and don’t overdo it. 😉

So, make your site welcoming. Make it easy for them so they enjoy each minute they spend on your blog! Put yourself in your reader’s shoes and always ask yourself what more you can do to help others.

Don’t be afraid to improve your blog and tweak it a bit down the road. After all, blogging is a never-ending story!
