For them, it was a way to stay home and take care of their kids while making a little money, which is fine, but the truth is everyone can start a blog!… Especially us, the older ones, with so many things to say! 😉 It’s time to share our knowledge, my friends!
And (lucky us! ) Our babies are now gone, and we have plenty of time to discover a new passion and do things we love… finally!

Looking back and seeing all I accomplished in the last two years, I feel immensely proud of myself! And I want you to feel like that too! 😊
So no, it’s never too late, and we’re never too old to start doing things we love!

You can blog about anything! And you don’t have to blog about a single topic either! There will always be someone out there to read you! There are so little blogs speaking to people over 50! It’s time we change that!

If you’re talking about money, I would say you won’t quickly get rich blogging! But…of course, it all depends on how serious you are about your blogging website.
I must admit that when I started my blog, it was to make money from it. But I realized that even though I wasn’t making that much money, I had so much fun that it was worth every minute I invested into it!! It gives me such a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction! That is the best reward ever!
There are many ways to monetize your blog. Of course, I’m not an expert, but here are some of the things you could do to make money from your blog:
1-Display Advertising:
Obviously the easiest one! As soon as you get some traffic and page views, you can apply to different advertising companies…
But I never did it for my own blog. To tell you the truth, I hate nothing more than a blog post full of ads and pop-ups! I usually leave the page even though it seems interesting! It is so disturbing! So, of course, I want to do something other than impose that on my readers! I like to keep them with me as long as possible! 😉
2-Affiliated Marketing
By far my favorite one! It is so much fun! And so easy… as long as you have a bit of traffic to your blog.

Let me share a little secret here… The easiest way to get traffic to your blog as a beginner is through Pinterest. Yes, yes, Pinterest!! You will quickly discover that there is much more than brownies recipes out there!!
But Pinterest is a beast all by itself! It took me months to understand it!
Actually, I clearly understood Pinterest after reading the book that my guru Ling wrote! →The Golden Compass To Pinterest Traffic.
I highly recommend this guide; I can’t tell how much it helped me! I wasted so much time trying to figure out how things were working! That e-book is the best way to overcome that big Pinterest beast!
3-Selling Your Own Services Or Products
Such as e-books, e-courses, templates, guides, printables, or even physical products.
Ha ha! I even start blogging to sell my books! A whole book about desserts ( in case you don’t know, I’m totally crazy about desserts! haha! ), and my second book is an All-Include-Party e-book… if just like me, you’re a curious girl 😊 you can see all my books here. All I know is that many bloggers do that, and from what I can see, they look happy about it… For now, I focus on things that I find more important, but I might give it a try one day…

And just like any other hobby, it’s up to you to decide how much you’re ready to invest. Simply keep in mind that you might need a few tools to make blogging more fun. Investing a little to learn will help you start on a good base, and blogging tasks will be easier but also faster… and we all know how time is precious!
But ( of course, there is a BUT! ha! ha! ) I highly recommend that you, at least, pay for self-host hostings to ensure you are the owner of your blog. It doesn’t cost much, and you’ll be 100% sure you control everything! And if you plan to monetize your blog one day, having a self-hosting is a must!
