Super Bowl parties are so so easy to plan!!  All you need is a big T.V.!  Ha! Ha! Just kidding! … even though the TV is still an important part of the evening 😉

Seriously, a Super Bowl party is one of the easiest parties to plan and host! All your guests will mostly focus on the game. And it’s always a very casual evening… All you have to plan is good finger food and drinks!  It is So perfectly Simple!! So if you have never hosted a party before, a Super Bowl party is the best for you!!

But even if it’s easy to organize, there are still a few things to think about to assure the success of your party…

Top 50 Best Kitchen Tips

How to plan a simple Super Bowl party:  A few important things to think about

-A lot of people like to stand up all evening to watch the game, which is fine but make sure that you have enough seating places, just in case

**  **

-Try to invite people that will blend well together. Some take football very seriously… the goal here is to avoid fights and battles! So don’t feel guilty if you prefer not to invite one or two of your friends ( let’s say, the more intense ones! )… that would save you from trouble later.

Nothing is worst than a party ending on a big argument. Don’t forget that your guests will have a few beers and drinks all throughout the evening…some of them can get a little less shy if you know what I mean… so it’s always a good idea to think about it before 😉

Another good idea is to ask your guests to bring their own beer and liquors… those Super Bowl parties often last a long, long time! You will feed them all evening long; all will understand that you can’t pay for everything!

**  **

-Make sure that you have enough room in your fridge or take out a few coolers to store their beverages… they will be happy to have beer on the ice close to them so that they won’t miss a minute of the game 🙂

-I always like to leave snacks on the table all night: chips, pretzels, popcorn, peanuts… it’s amazing how much people can eat during this evening! Just like if they were the ones to run and play football!  ha! ha!

**  **

On the other hand…

Some of your guests don’t like football at all! So you might have to entertain them in the kitchen ( I don’t know why, but it always ends in the kitchen!! ). But don’t worry, the guys watching the game are usually so loud, you won’t miss anything!!  … And kitchen parties are so fun! I really like having a bunch of people laughing in my kitchen… on top of that, you will have plenty of helpers to assist you in serving food! 😀

How to plan a simple Super Bowl party… Let’s talk about food…

Of course, any finger food will do! But try to stay away from the very messy ones…no need to explain why…

I like to have a variety that I will serve throughout the evening.

I alternate between hot and cold plates… much easier to manage! Only one thing at a time in the oven! … but to tell you the truth… most of your guests won’t even pay attention to what they eat! Way too busy watching the game 😉

So, no need to be fancy here! For once, the quantity will go over quality! … Ok, I don’t really mean to serve any bad quality food, no, no! What I really mean is that you don’t have to look for fancy recipes, just think simple!

Choose things that all will like and enjoy, but most of all, things that are easy to make, easy to serve, and easy to eat!

As always, keep it simple and prioritize everything that you can prepare ahead… after all, you deserve to enjoy that evening too! 😉 Having only to remove from the fridge and serve or throw a few things in the oven would make your Super Bowl party Perfectly Simple!!

How to plan a simple Super Bowl party: Planing your meal

Here are some suggestions to help you plan your meal. These are my top favorite Super Bowl dishes… but have a look there to find more great ideas for your Super Bowl meal; you’ll find the good old classics but also some other recipes that I can’t wait to try… and I might not wait until Super Bowl to try them!!

  • Chicken wings:  chicken wings for super bowl party

Well, because a Super Bowl party isn’t really a Super Bowl party without them! I tried many recipes over the years, such as lime and black pepper, garlic and parmesan, spicy Thai or Mediterranean style, but I realized that guys don’t like when we play with their chicken wings!! They like the traditional ones for the Super Bowl!  So, I now serve only BBQ or Buffalo style, and I add a spicy sauce on the side to please everyone… less work for me! Yay!!

  • Dip and veggies:

I think it’s essential to have some veggies, and salads are not a good option at all here! Dip and veggies are very easy to eat and so easy to serve! It’s usually the first plate I put on the table so people can eat veggies all evening long. I like having two different dips. I serve half of them at the beginning and fill the bowls as it goes ( veggies can spend the evening on the table, but dips are usually made from sour cream or mayonnaise, it’s safer to keep them in the fridge 😉)

  • Sliders, hot or cold:

So easy to prepare, and absolutely everyone likes them!! I like the Sloppy Joe version… but way too messy for a Super Bowl party! So I suggest one with a little less sauce… your carpet will thank you for that! Ham & cheese grilled in the oven are the most popular ones, but feel free to add your special touch!  I personally like the Italian version of the ham & cheese: I add a few slices of salami, parmesan cheese, a zip of olive oil on top, then I sprinkle with dried Italian herbs and more parmesan… absolutely delicious!!

No worries! We will talk about dessert right after! 😉

  • Nachos, of course!!

    nachos for super bowl party

Just like the chicken wings, it’s a must-have item!  And now is the time to be creative… You can add almost anything to nachos! And the more cheese, the better 😀. The taco version is a very popular one, but I suggest that you serve sour cream, guacamole, and salsa on the side. Corn chips will stay crunchy and will be much easier to eat.

  • Tortillas pin-weels:

Again, possibilities are endless. I always opt for a cold version. And they are even better when you prepare them a day ahead… which is perfect! The most popular ones are the Buffalo chicken salad but don’t be scared to try cream cheese and veggies recipes; whatever the garnishing, it’s always a success!!

  • Assorted sandwiches tray:

Cut into quarters, they are very easy to eat. But because they take longer to prepare, I always order them from a caterer… it doesn’t cost more, but you will save so much time!

  • Cornbread dogs:

Hot dogs (cut into halves ) or even pigs in a blanket…  nothing to add here! It’s always a hit!… but don’t forget  Dijon, mustard, and ketchup onto your serving plate…

  • Pizza bites:

Any kind of pizza will do! You can use mini-pitas, a big rectangular pizza that you would cut into 2×2” squares, English muffins, mini-naan bread…any base will do! You can even make pizza subs that you would cut into single portions… as long as it tastes like pizza, everybody will be happy!! 😊

Now, dessert… My favorite part!

I’m such a sweet tooth!… And if you’re like me, you will appreciate ending your evening with a sweet touch.

I like to choose cake or cupcakes that I can prepare ahead ( or freeze, which is even better! ). Have a look at my Top 10 favorite make-ahead desserts to grab some great ideas to help you end your evening with a sweet touch

My two favorite ones to serve are carrot cake and chocolate cake, which I can cut into single-size portions. Any tartlets would be perfect too! But don’t make too much. Your guests will spend all evening eating… they might feel a little too full for a big heavy dessert…

I love dessert so much that I also created a book! 😉

You should find your perfect dessert there!!

So, these are my favorite, but there are so many other plates to choose from. And depending on the number of people you’re hosting, You might don’t need to bake all of these dishes! Choose some from that list… or do just like me and bake all the list in smaller quantities! 😉 I love to have a wide variety. A bit of this and a bit of that… ha! ha! You should see my plate when it’s a buffet!! I don’t want to miss a thing, so I always have a bit of everything… and the more different dishes on the table, the happiest I am!!
